Syrup Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen Klaassen Farms Blueberries
  • Juice and zest of one lemon
  • One lemon thinly sliced

Assembly Ingredients:

  • Good quality vodka
  • Chilled Sparkling lemon water
  • Lemon Juice
  • Sugar
  • Lemon wedges & fresh blueberries for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the sugar, water, lemon juice, zest and blueberries to a boil and cook until the sugar is fully dissolved and the blueberries have burst and released all their juices. Take off the heat and dump in the sliced whole lemon. When the syrup has cooled completely, strain into an airtight container.
  2. Fill two shallow plates each with lemon juice and sugar- dip the rim of a cocktail glass into the lemon and then into the sugar, and set aside.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, shake 1oz of vodka and 1oz of blueberry syrup over ice. Pour carefully into the bottom of each cocktail glass and top with chilled sparkling lemon water. Garnish with few fresh blueberries and a lemon wedge if desired. Serve immediately.
