Local Feature – Little Mountain Greenhouses & Horsting’s Farm Market

Valley to Valley

Our customers are not only local to Chilliwack, they are located throughout British Columbia. What this means is that we get to work alongside some pretty great people, some that are here in our own back yard and some that run multiple businesses and farms. If you have visited Little Mountain Greenhouses it is likely that you have purchased something from their farm in Cache Creek, Horsting’s Farm Market.

Marc and Dianne Shane are the proud owners of both Horsting’s Farm Market and Little Mountain Greenhouses. In 2006 they bought Little Mountain Greenhouses which has been in business for 33 years. Horsting’s Farm Market was bought in 2005 and restored to it’s original charm that the Horsting’s family had worked so hard to establish. Today when you visit Horsting’s you can enjoy some food made with the Horsting’s families original recipes.

Community Matters

For the Shane family it is important to employ people in the community, give back to the community and support the community. Also, when you support a local business you are supporting a local family dream. They love to give back to our Veterans, Community Gardens, Lions Club, and schools in Chilliwack. At Horsting’s they support the local community by giving back to the food bank, 4H and supporting local businesses such as Klaassen Farms by selling our products in our store.

Food From Field To Table

One interesting fact that people may not know about Little Mountain Greenhouses is that they grow 90% of what they sell onsite. The majority of Horsting’s pies are produced with fruit grown on their farm and their potato bread is made with their homegrown potatoes. The family really knows how to grow great food and make great products with it.
